Postcards For Distant Friends (2024)
There was one strange summer when travel within the country felt almost safe.
After a year if being confined to the home or neighbourhood, and despite a lingering fear of human proximity, a new thrill emerged around recovering wild spaces.
I took these photographs on 35mm film while traveling around the UK in the summer of 2021.
They take analogue film to its technical limits, revealing layers of colours and grain intrinsic to the medium but often invisible.
